Victoria Monét is getting the esteemed honor of having her dance moves featured in the popular video Fortnite , but she won’t be the only person benefitting. Sean Bankhead, her close collaborator , revealed that he will also be compensated for choreographing the selected dance.

A fan page for the Jaguar II artist revealed the collaboration on Sunday (July 14) via X (formerly Twitter). “Fortnite said lemme show y’all why they’re called V bucks,” they wrote. “The Lookin Good emote inspired by On My Mama by Victoria Monét is now available.” The accompanying video shows a Fortnite avatar hitting Monét’s choreography from her popular music video.

The three-time Grammy winner quoted the post and wrote, “AYYYE *lovestruck emoji, crying laughing emoji* this is crazyyy.” Bankhead quoted the same tweet and wrote, “Fly the plane! And yes im getting paid for this! Hallelujah!!”

This is a major moment for Victoria Monét and Sean Bankhead, especially after the success they’ve experienced over the last year. The “On My Mama” video, which was a love letter to early 2000s Black Southern culture, has over 62 million views on YouTube. It was recognized for Video Of The Year at the 2024 BET Awards plus Best Dance Performance and Video Of The Year at the 2023 Soul Train Music Awards .

As for the 2024 Grammys , Monét was nominated for seven awards at the February spectacle. She walked away with three awards, namely Best New Artist , Best R&B Album, and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical). Notably, she became the first Black woman to win the Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) award.

Monét also had the honor of participating in Usher’s Lifetime Achievement tribute performance at the 2024 BET Awards. She danced alongside Teyana Taylor while “Bad Girl” played in the background and was one of the standout aspects of the highly criticized tribute performance.
