Shannen Doherty has been remembered by her mom as a "beautiful girl" following her tragic death from cancer .
The beloved Charmed actress sadly died on Saturday following a lengthy battle with breast cancer . Shannen died surrounded by her loved ones, with her publicist confirming the heartbreaking news in a statement, which read: "It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.
"The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace." Now, Shannen's mom Rosa Doherty has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her daughter .

"She is my beautiful girl and my heart. Our family wants to thank everyone who has shown love and support for our Shannen throughout her life. We are truly appreciative," Rosa told People .
Shannen had opened up about her illness in the weeks before her death and admitted it was the "hardest time" she had experienced. Speaking on her Let's Be Clear podcast, she said: " got cancer in 2015, and it went to remission, I think, right at the end of 2017 or at the beginning of 2018, and then it came back in 2019 as stage 4 breast cancer, but then it spread to my bones.
"And from there, it spread to my brain." She added: "There's so many protocols. Eventually it's stage 4 cancer eventually those protocols are gonna stop working. And you just hope that you are on one long enough for them to actually come up with another protocol and another protocol... so it's really hard."
Speaking about her emotional state, Shannen revealed: "This is probably the hardest time for me that I've ever had with the cancer. I've always kinda felt very positive and, like, I can deal with it, and this is definitely like I'm overly emotional."

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, with it later being revealed that she had gone into remission before it returned. In 2020, she revealed she had stage 4 breast cancer.
In June 2023, Shannen shared an update with fans as she said the cancer had spread to her brain. Tributes have been pouring in for the actress, with her co-star Jason Priestly writing: "Shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Shannen. She was a force of nature and I will miss her. Sending love and light to her family in this dark time."
Rose McGowan added: "Shannen Doherty had the heart of a lion. Passion for craft is often mislabeled as trouble. Shannen was passion. I met her in the 90s and was awed. Getting to really know her later in life, a beautiful gift.
"This woman fought to live. Shannen knew how to be a star because she was one since childhood. Her work ethic inspiring to the end. Shannen’s great love for directing, for acting, Holly, her friends, her parents, dog and her beloved fans was legendary."
