Corn Fest is returning to Valleyfair next month

Valleyfair has revealed the details of this year's Corn Fest, a "celebration of Minnesota's favorite crop," which will run from August 17 through September 2.

The festival, which runs runs on Saturdays and Sundays as well as Labor Day, will offer sweet and savory corn options, live and local music, and a variety of "corn-forward activities."

"I can't think of a better way to celebrate that late summer sunshine by having cobs of fun at the park," said Raul Rehnborg, Valleyfair's vice president and general manager. "Corn is not only a staple of Minnesota's harvest season, but it's also one of the state's largest exports and something to be proud of."

There will be many corn-centric food options, including rainbow elote, Frito pie with corn and white bean chili, corn ribs, roasted green chile corn burgers, roasted black bean and corn queso fries, loaded corn nuggets, and more, including butter-dipped corn-on-the-cob. Food will be served at locations around the Gazebo stage area.

They will also serve unique Jack Daniels cocktails, popcorn, and beer flights.

Live music will be featured throughout the festival, including rock, bluegrass, and country music. Bands set to perform include The Dam Jammers, Coyote Wild, The Michael Handler Project, King Wilkie's Dream, and more.

The festival will feature daily corn-eating contests and kid events such as "harvest-inspired crafts" and prize games.
