    PHOTOS: Storms sweep Central Illinois overnight

    CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) — After severe weather and storm warnings swept across the state overnight, Central Illinois is cleaning up the aftermath.

    Across several counties, trees and power lines went down with the strong winds and left much to clean up Tuesday morning.

    Champaign County

    A tree down on Daniel Street between 4th and 5th Streets in Champaign.

    On the 1200 block of West Clark Street in Champaign, a tree took out some power lines and power poles.

    Another tree down in Champaign partially blocked the road.

    A tree went down over a playground area in Champaign.

    More tree damage was reported off of Randolph Street in Champaign.

    Looking northwest, Aaron captured lightening strikes over Rising Road and Route 10.

    More tree damage was spotted at Second and John Streets in Champaign’s Campustown.

    Over in Urbana, one viewer captured a photo of a power line glowing orange. Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lighty said Urbana Avenue and California have extensive tree damage, including a tree on a car and on a roof.

    Also in Urbana, On Oregon Street between Race and Broadway, a large tree fell down onto a home.

    Iroquois County

    Trees were down and uprooted in Stockland.

    Vermilion County

    In Georgetown, Destinee captured electric lightening branching out across the sky.

    Ameren shares update on power restoration efforts statewide

    A large tree went down in Danville. Lighty said the Danville area had a ton of powerlines down.

    Ogle County

    Oregan/Anderson area also saw a lot of damage from downed trees.
