Communities along Route 24 across Northern Missouri experienced the brunt of Tuesday morning’s storms, resulting in widespread power outages and tree and roof damage.

Chariton County Emergency Management Director Christina Brashaer tells KMMO News that roofs were blown off structures in Brunswick and Salisbury, while trees were uprooted in Brunswick and limbs snapped in Keytesville. Similar damage has been reported in Glasgow and outside Armstrong. As of 11 a.m., over 3,000 Evergy customers in Chariton and Howard counties were without power, along with about 190 electric cooperative customers. Downed trees and power outages are also reported across Carroll County, with over 700 people without power in the Bosworth area.

Earlier this morning, as many as 2,000 residents in Richmond were without power as the storm began rolling through the area, bringing straight-line winds. Most residents have since had their power restored. Reports were also made to the National Weather Service of downed trees and power lines in Miami and Slater.
