The director of the U.S. Secret Service, who has come under intense scrutiny following assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, has ties to Westchester County. Kimberly Cheatle, appointed director in 2022, served as senior director of global security at Purchase-based PepsiCo for three years prior to her appointment. During that time, she was responsible for implementing security protocols at the company's North American facilities and developing risk management strategies. Before joining PepsiCo, Cheatle spent 27 years with the Secret Service. In a statement released yesterday, Cheatle said the agency will "participate fully" in an independent review ordered by President Joe Biden and will work with Congress on "any oversight action." Calls for her resignation have already surfaced. "
