EXCLUSIVE : Garrett Clayton (Teen Beach Movie) has signed on to star in the feature film, Our Family Pride , a coming-out story from writer-director-actor Glen Evelyn.

Based on the filmmaker’s real-life events, Our Family Pride tells the personal journey of a family that comes together through conflict and difficult times, amid finding out their father is gay later in life. Mike (Clayton), along with his mother and siblings, must confront this new reality as well as their own personal struggles on the path to acceptance.
Pic is slated to start shooting later this month in Florida’s Palm Beaches and Ft. Lauderdale areas.
The film also stars Chad Ridgely ( Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ), William Mark McCullough ( Manhunt ), and Rachel Alig ( The Cleaning Lady ). Evelyn will produce under his GunnerMAX Productions, along with Dominic Giannetti of Giannetti Films and co-star Ridgely of Full Auto Films.

Clayton is best known for portraying Tanner in the Disney Channel Teen Beach Movie franchise. He also played Chase Dillon in family drama series The Fosters and as Link Larkin in the musical TV special Hairspray Live!
“I wrote this story to help LGBTQ+ people coming out late in life to tell their stories to help their friends and families better understand and accept them. While there is greater acceptance than ever of people loving who they want to, these stories still need to be told,” explained Evelyn.
