Before receiving assistance, a FEMA inspector must determine that your residence is uninhabitable due to damage from the fires or flood. FEMA assistance is grant and will not have to be repaid. Anyone needing more than two months of rental assistance must apply for extended assistance.

To qualify for rental assistance, you must apply to FEMA for federal disaster assistance. You can apply for disaster assistance online , by calling the FEMA Helpline (800-621-3362) or by visiting a Disaster Recovery Center . The deadline to apply for assistance is August 19, 2024.
