Let's say you had a pair of side tables that had seen better days. And those days were probably years and years ago. Not to mention the fact that neither side table, though they look similar, is exactly the same. Most of us might call it a day and throw them in the trash or hope someone takes them at a garage sale.

Not TikTok creator Jillian of @Spellbound_Furniture . She saw the hidden potential in the pieces and turned them into a gothic dream. Jillian first found these remarkably similar-looking end tables at two different thrift stores fifty miles apart from each other. Apart from a few minor differences (namely in the hardware), she knew exactly what to do with them.

Moody end table transformation I hunted down these tables a two different thrift stores 50 miles away from each other and knew I had to make them a set. @S T R I P W E L L QCS is always my go to finish remover. Give them a gothic makeover. That meant first removing the hardware and then removing all of the old damaged and peeling finish off both pieces. She did so by spraying on QCS finish remover, allowing it to sit, and then scraping off the old finish .

After the old finish was gone, Jillian got to go back and paint. She used a paint sprayer to get a nice even coat, which was important since she was going in and covering both with black . She also recommended working on the bottom of each side first to ensure good coverage from all angles. The spindle legs also needed a careful coat to get all the nooks and crannies.

Once the paint dried, Jillian added some gorgeous floral accents by using a resin kit and molds. She mixed up the resin, poured it into the molds, and allowed it to turn white, which meant they were cured. These resin flowers were then attached to the front of the drawers and the side table using some Titebond glue.

One more coat of paint covered the whole thing, blending the flowers into the side table, and voila—the whole thing now looks so stunningly gothic that we immediately want them for Halloween. This transformation shows how a little creativity and effort can turn seemingly worthless items into unique, stylish pieces. You don't always have to part with your old furniture; sometimes, all it needs is a touch of magic and a vision for what it could become.
