Ingrid Andress is apologizing for her flubbed performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner” at the 2024 Home Run Derby. On Tuesday, the country singer issued a statement in which she revealed plans to check herself into a rehabilitation facility after admitting that she “was drunk” during her rendition of the National Anthem.

“I’m not gonna bullshit y’all, I was drunk last night,” Andress wrote on Instagram. “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night.”

“I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition,” Andress added. “I’ll let y’all know how rehab is, I hear it’s super fun.”

Under the post, Andress received supportive messages from fans and fellow country singers alike.

“I’m sending you love, Ingrid. Being this open takes a lot,” commented Carly Pearce. “You’ve got this. Hang in there.”

“Love you girl,” wrote Julia Michaels, who’s written with Andress in the past. “I’m sorry you’re going through this. And I’m sorry the world can be so cruel. Here for you xx.”

“Damn this make me love it even more! We all been there drunk and wild times!!! Ur human,” added songwriter Ink.

Andress received ultra-harsh criticism online for her less-than-ideal performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner” at the Home Run Derby on Monday. Fans drew comparisons to Fergie’s performance of the song during the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.

The performance had come just a few hours after Andress announced that she’d release a new single titled “Colorado 9” on July 24. She was set to play in Nashville on Wednesday and in Denver on July 24. It’s unclear if the single will still be released, though the shows seem to be canceled.

Andress earned three Grammy nominations for her first album, Lady Like , in 2021, including for Best New Artist and Best Country Song for “ More Hearts Than Mine .” She also earned a nod for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her song “ Wishful Drinking ” with Sam Hunt in 2023.
