Parenting can test the best of us. This is true across species and breeds, because it's no easy feat! New Parrot parents Beaker and Tinkerbell are feeling this to their core when their new baby Ducky will not stop crying.

In a hilarious July 15 TikTok video shared by @beakerbeak , Beaker and Tinkerbell are at a complete loss as to how to quiet their new baby, and boy, is it relatable! Take a look below!

In the clip that says, "When your baby won't stop crying," Mom and Dad stand by as baby Ducky throws a little parrot tantrum. Neither parent knows exactly what's wrong or how to make it stop so instead, they keep asking, "what are you doing?" which is also relatable to parents everywhere.

Finally, when Ducky quiets, the confused mom and dad hold still for a second to be sure it's over before kissing their baby through the glass bowl. Their sounds of delight are enough to prove parenting is universal—none of us know what we're doing, but we just jump in and hope for the best!

The adorable family's followers repeatedly joked about the featherless spots on Beaker's head, likely brought on by the stress of fatherhood while others marveled in the real mood of parenting a baby.

"Beaker is every one of my friends who have become parents—confused, tired, starting a bald spot," one person joked. "Fatherhood is making Beaker's feathers fall out his head!" another re-iterated. "The quiet after the baby stops crying (as to not cause more crying) is universal I suppose," another said.

Thankfully this phase won't last forever and we're sure Beaker and Tinkerbell agree!

Can Parrots Lose Their Feathers From Stress?

With so many noticing Beaker's apparent bald spots, it's likely from the stress of having a new baby. Greencross Vets says birds can lose feathers for a variety of reasons and yes, stress can be one of them! If Beaker isn't feather-plucking on his own , the anxiety from all the changes that come with parenting may cause him to prematurely molt. Though molting is something that naturally happens about once a year in normal birds, stress can lead to early molting and bald spots.

The best way to combat the loss of feathers  is to find the source of the stress. In Beaker's case, it's the baby (!) so with time, he'll adjust and his feathers will eventually return.

Becoming a new parent is a stressful time, but it will pass. Hang in there, Beaker and Tinkerbell!
