Depending on where you live in the US, dogs are only sometimes welcome at dining establishments. While some argue they can be a disruption or a health hazard, others understand their many benefits.
This Golden Retriever shows off a skill set that makes his presence highly valuable. Even better, he happily took his daily pay in crumbs after a well-done job. See what makes him such an asset in this video from July 14:
What an excellent job he did! Joey’s (@ joey_how_u_doinnn ) parents reveal that he’s been waiting for an opportunity like this one his entire life. The moment he saw a chance to show off his skills, he took it! Those pesky pigeons on the table are no match for his bouncer abilities. He ran over with an excited trot and a big bark, which caused them to flee. Understanding his achievements, he went to the server to receive praise for a job well done. As he should! Then, to further assist, he went over to lick up the crumbs left behind on the ground. Talk about efficiency! We should all be so lucky to have such dedicated employees working around us.

Do Golden Retrievers Have a High Prey Drive?
Golden Retrievers are best known for their friendly, outgoing, and social natures rather than having a strong prey drive . They were initially bred to retrieve waterfowl for hunters, so their natural instinct is to fetch and retrieve rather than harm other creatures. While they may enjoy chasing birds or squirrels, it’s usually a sign of playfulness or curiosity rather than hunting. These happy-go-lucky dogs are easy to train and have eager-to-please temperaments. If they do show signs of a strong prey drive, working on recall training can help ensure they return to you when they encounter a small animal is essential. As with any dog, it’s also vital for these active pups to have plenty of mentally enriching games and lots of exercises to prevent unwanted behaviors.

If you’ve ever been too close to these birds for comfort, you know how valuable this good boy’s skill set is, especially in big cities where tourists frequently do it.
Although I love all creatures, I would prefer not to have birds around when I am dining. It’s good to know that Joey can be called in to assist should I encounter this problem.
