Colin Firth has joined the cast of Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock series.

Young Sherlock is a new Amazon Prime Video series that is directed and executive produced by Ritchie, who previously made 2009’s Sherlock Holmes and 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Per Deadline, the Young Sherlock series has added Kingsman’s Colin Firth to the cast. Firth will be playing a character named Sir Bucephalus Hodge.

Who else stars in Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock series with Colin Firth?

The cast of Young Sherlock also includes Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes, Zine Tseng Princess Gulun Shou’an, Joseph Fiennes as Sherlock’s father, and Natascha McElhone as Sherlock’s mother.

“The show re-imagines Sherlock Holmes at age 19. Disgraced, raw, unfiltered, and unformed, he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University which threatens his freedom,” Deadline’s description of Young Sherlock reads. “Diving into his first-ever case with a wild lack of discipline, Sherlock (Fiennes Tiffin) manages to unravel a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever.”

The series, which is inspired by Andy Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels, is written by Matthew Parkhill. Parkhill also serves as the showrunner and executive producer, while Simon Kelton, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Maxwell, Dhana Gilbert, Colin Wilson, and Marc Resteghini additionally serve as executive producers. Harriet Creelman co-executive produces.

Firth won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in 2010’s The King’s Speech. He’s also known for playing Harry Hart in the Kingsman franchise and Mark Darcy in the Bridget Jones movies. His filmography additionally includes 1996’s The English Patient, 1998’s Shakespeare in Love, 2003’s Love Actually, 2008’s Mamma Mia!, 2011’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, 2018’s Mary Poppins Returns, 2019’s 1917, and more.

A premiere date for Young Sherlock has not yet been announced.
