BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — The ND Governor’s Photo Contest has returned and invites state shutterbugs to compete for plenty of prizes and recognition.
This year’s theme focuses on the seasonal scenery of North Dakota, and showcasing the appeal of ND throughout the year. Photographers interested in competing can submit entries in eight categories:
- Spring Scenery
- Spring Activities
- Summer Scenery
- Summer Activities
- Fall Scenery
- Fall Activities
- Winter Scenery
- Winter Activities
The competition’s overall winner will receive a cash prize, as well as a free AAA membership. The winning photos from each category will also be displayed in the ND State Capitol and used in North Dakota promotional materials.
“North Dakota is a state of extraordinary beauty and diverse experiences,” stated Governor Burgum, “and this photo contest is a wonderful opportunity for residents to showcase what makes our state special. We encourage everyone to participate, capture the magic of our seasons, and share their unique perspectives with the world. Let’s celebrate North Dakota’s beauty together and inspire others to discover our great state.”
The contest is open to all ND residents. Photographers can submit their entries online through Instagram, the competition website, or by mail. The deadline for entry submission is January 31, 2025.
