ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky firmly believes that the New York Jets will make a move this season for Davante Adams.

Adams has been linked to the Jets consistently over the past few weeks, with the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Breece Hall both seeming to lobby for the All-Pro wide receiver to join them in New York.

The first eight years of Adams’ NFL career were spent with the Green Bay Packers and Rodgers.

Last year with the Las Vegas Raiders, Adams had 103 receptions for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns.

A former NFL quarterback, Orlovsky said on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Tuesday that Adams may not want a trade but then laid out several points as to how and why it could happen for the Jets:

“One, the Raiders don’t matter until they get a quarterback — I don’t care what anybody says. So at some point you got to try to go get a quarterback.

“Number two, if you’re the Jets, why would you not? You haven’t won a Super Bowl ever, or in like 50-something years, or something like that. You’ve already gone it all in. You have to make this work.

“If you don’t win the Super Bowl, this is going to be one of the more disappointing acquisitions, acquisitions and runs and wasted talented teams that we’ve seen in the NFL in many years. I think this is a done deal at some point — Davante Adams plays for the Jets this season.”

ESPN personality and host Mike Greenberg, a Jets fan, corrected Orlovsky that the Jets won Super Bowl III in 1969.

But Orlovsky’s bigger point, that Adams would put the Jets over the top, remains very much true.
