This week, Netflix will release part one of the docuseries following one of the greatest gymnasts of all-time. Click inside to check it out!

Simone Biles has unfinished business. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she was one of the biggest stories leading into the Games. But in sport, as in life, competitions do not always go as planned. And for Simone, the world had a front row seat as her private struggle with mental health exploded on the international stage – forcing her to withdraw from the competition.

Since then, Simone has put in the hard work: facing the difficult traumas of her past, learning to manage her mental health, embracing her journey, and in the process, rebuilding her gymnastics from the ground up. Her courage to soar knows no bounds as this summer she plans to return to the Olympic stage once again to do what she’s always done – be the best Simone that she can be. Because through it all, Simone still rises.

The Katie Walsh directed series was produced by Religion of Sports in association with the Olympic Channel. Gotham Chopra, Ameeth Sankaran, Giselle Parets, Janey Miller, JT Taylor and Yiannis Exarchos served as executive producers. Part one of the series will premiere on Netflix tomorrow (July 17th) and part two will premiere sometime this Fall. Each part consists of two 45 minute episodes. Additionally, after watching Simone Biles Rising, be sure to tune in to see her and the rest of the USA Gymnastics team in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony on July 26th.

Ahead of the documentary’s premiere, Netflix has released a trailer in which EGOT winner Viola Davis narrates an excerpt from Dr. Maya Angelou’s poem, “Still I Rise.” Angelou’s “Still I Rise” is not only the inspiration for the series name, but also a mantra for Biles, who has a permanent tattoo of the title as a daily reminder. Netflix also released a first look clip where Biles explains the meaning behind her “Still I Rise” tattoo. Check out both below!
