Fox News pushed back on Donald Trump Jr.’s claim that he is “blacklisted” from the network, a declaration he made only hours after giving a Fox reporter an interview.

In a conversation with Axios co-founder Mike Allen for an Axios House event during the Republican National Convention , Trump Jr. claimed there was a time you needed to “bend the knee” to Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch , but not anymore.

“There was a time where if you wanted to survive in the Republican Party, you had to bend the knee to to him or to others,” he said, declaring that is “not the case anymore.”

“Do you believe you were blacklisted from Fox News?” Allen asked Trump Jr.

Trump Jr. claimed he’s been told he’s “blacklisted” by the network from people who work there. He claimed there were last minute changes to interviews booked after his father, former President Donald Trump , was indicted. He said he’s been told of his supposed blacklisting in almost explicit” terms.

“I don’t know that it matters,” Trump Jr. said about the supposed black-balling. “It’s certainly a nice venue to [speak] and it is reaching people, but it’s sort of the same people I’ve been reaching in other venues. I hope it [changes] because we want to be out there. We want to be able to get that message out there. I think I deliver it fairly well most of the time and so we’ll see what happens.”

Just hours before this interview, Trump Jr. had spoken to a number of media outlets — including Fox News — while on the convention floor. Trump Jr. spoke with Fox News correspondent Aishah Hasnie .

Fox News dismissed Trump Jr.’s claim, saying they asked him to appear on a show on Wednesday and he is always “welcome.” They also said he has accepted an appearance on the network since his comments to Axios.

“Donald Trump Jr. was on FOX News Channel yesterday with correspondent Aishah Hasnie. Prior to the Axios event, Fox & Friends asked him to appear on the show on Wednesday and he has since accepted that booking,” a Fox News spokesperson told Mediaite. “He is and always has been welcome on all FOX News Media platforms.”

The Trump family have also remained familiar faces on the network with Eric Trump appearing with Laura Ingraham and Lara Trump appearing with Sean Hannity this week following the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
