A child drowned in the Loch Raven Reservoir on Monday afternoon, according to police.

At about 5 p.m., Baltimore County Police officers responded to the Loch Raven Reservoir to assist with a water rescue. The fire department found a 9-year-old who had been submerged.

The child was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Earlier this month, a missing 3-year-old boy was found in a neighborhood pool in Rockville and later pronounced dead. In June, a 6-year-old boy died after going missing in Dundalk and being found in Lynch Cove.

“Unfortunately, this is what we see once the weather gets warm,” Baltimore County Fire Department spokesperson Travis Francis said in June. He encouraged parents not let children near water unsupervised.
