JobsNOW: Local company hiring amid major expansion

VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) – A company with headquarters in Trumbull County is expanding and looking for new employees.

Millwood, Inc. repairs and builds new pallets. It handles over 130,000 a month, over 1 million each year, in Vienna, making it a leader in the pallet and packaging industry.

“So we are growing rapidly, and we just have a lot of open positions,” said Serina Bennett, people operations manager at Millwood.

The jobs are from top to bottom, across the board. The company is hiring production workers who can build a standard-size pallet in just seconds, or one that is 80 inches by 70 inches. It is also looking for workers who can recognize pallets that need repairs and sort them out and those who line up the boards so mechanized machines can pound all the nails in just seconds.

“Any type of carpentry background is always beneficial for us,” said Tom Booth, the plant manager.

“Any kind of handyman type of work — power tools, saws, tape measures, carpentry — is a huge bonus, so there’s there’s a need across the board,” Bennett said.

There is also a need for people to drive forklifts or just have general labor skills. Millwood is also ready to hire for customer support management and even sales across the nation.

Millwood is expanding its corporate headquarters in Vienna. It will create 50 full-time jobs when completed this year.
