INDIANAPOLIS — While most of the election news you have been seeing likely involves Joe Biden and Donald Trump , another candidate may be on Indiana’s ballot this November: Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kennedy may qualify for the state’s November ballot, after submitting the required petition signatures by Monday’s noon deadline. The son of former politician Robert F. Kennedy is running as an Independent.

He says he has submitted more than 105,000 signatures – well above the nearly 37,000 needed to qualify. But, the Indiana Election Division has not yet counted the submissions, meaning Kennedy’s spot on the ballot is not yet guaranteed.

Volunteer Dolores Lane says, “Indianans are ready to end government corruption and embrace healthy people, healthy food, healthy soils – and the return of our Constitutional freedoms.”

Now, you may be wondering why you have not seen the Presidential hopeful facing Biden and Trump in any recent debates. Unfortunately, he has not been able to qualify.

To be on the debate stage, candidates must meet certain requirements, including a polling minimum. The Commission on Presidential Debates has set that minimum at 15% in multiple polls.

Kennedy is running with California lawyer Nicole Shanahan.
