Here’s hoping that Jack has the same self-deprecating sense of humor as his mom, Anna Faris .

The actor appeared on “ Today ” Monday and was asked by co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Justin Sylvester about her parenting struggles, prompting them to note how quickly her son Jack, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Pratt, has grown up.

“He’s amazing. He’s 11,” Faris said when Kotb asked how he’s been doing.

“You miss it sometimes when you look at old photos,” she said, reminiscing about her son’s childhood before implying that he is now entering a new phase in his development.

“I think I’m really loving this age. Although, he told me that he thinks he has an armpit hair. So, it’s happening,” the “Mom” star said.

As if a light crack about Jack going through puberty wasn’t enough to make her preteen’s cheeks instantly flush, the “House Bunny” star went on to call him out a little more.

When Kotb expressed anxiety over parenting, Faris responded by describing something that Jack routinely does that makes her a “little crazy.”

“‘Mom, where’s my backpack?’” Faris said, imitating her son. “When it’s like, right there … It’s like, how do I teach him how to just look?”

It seemed like Faris was done lightly roasting her son when Kotb mentioned the summer Olympics, and noted that Faris was a huge fan of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team — but no. Faris figured out how to zing Jack one last time when Kotb gave her an NBC gift basket filled with 2024 Paris Olympic swag. Faris took out a pair of socks from the gift basket.

“These would not fit Jack. He has, like, duck paddle for feet. … But they’ll fit me!” she said.

Although Faris has clearly entered the “IDGAF if I embarrass my kid” stage of parenting, it is nice to hear the “Scary Movie” alum talk about Jack in such a fun and breezy way.

Faris wrote about Jack’s health issues in her 2017 memoir, ” Unqualified .” In her book, Faris wrote that Jack was born nine weeks early and spent a month in the NICU, a time period she described as “emotionally exhausting.”

“The pediatric neurosurgeon sat Chris [Pratt] and me down to tell us that Jack had some severe brain bleeding and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled,” she wrote, according to People . “I was in complete shock ... So Chris and I did what we could, which was hold hands and hope and face it together.”

After about a month in the NICU, Jack got to go home with his parents. At the time that Faris wrote her book, she said Jack was a happy, healthy 5-year-old with only some slight vision and leg muscle issues.

“Today, Jack is at a beautiful age,” Faris wrote in her book. “He has some temper tantrums occasionally (did I mention he’s 5?) but he’s a really good kid and he’s happy and delicious and likes cuddles.”

So, if poking fun of her kid on a daytime talk show indicates that Jack is doing fine, we say, make fun of your son’s flipper-like feet and body hair all ya want, Faris!
