FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Missouri woman accused of kidnapping and murdering a pregnant Arkansas mom in 2022 had her trial delayed in Benton County.

Last month a Benton County judge ordered Amber Waterman to be transferred from Missouri to the county court and face her kidnapping charge and two counts of capital murder.

Waterman, 44, was supposed to arrive in the Benton County Court on July 15, but she is being held in Missouri awaiting a federal jury trial.

In early July, Waterman filed a plea change in her federal case. She is expected to change her plea on July 30.

The circumstances of the case could potentially carry the death penalty in federal court.

She is scheduled to be in Benton County on Oct. 28.
