Expect thunderstorms in Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) — Over the next seven days, scattered showers and thunderstorms will become common.

It will be hot and muggy on Wednesday with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Highs on Wednesday will be in the lower 90s. The chance of rain is 60%.

A cold front will slow down and stall across the Piedmont on Thursday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely with highs in the upper 80s. The chance of rain is 70%.

On Friday, we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in the lower 80s. The chance of rain is 50%.

We have scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low to middle 80s. The chance of rain is 60%.

We’ll see more of the same on Monday and Tuesday and scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in the middle 80s. The chance of rain is 60%.

With better rain chances returning to the Piedmont, it’s possible we can put a dent in the drought.
