New York Giants 2024 NFL Training Camp Preview

Have you been watching the offseason Hard Knocks that the Giants are featured in? Yeah… they’re going to suck this year. That’s not a secret and that series has been so revealing in the worst possible way. As the 2024 NFL Training Camp previews roll on, let’s talk about everything you need to know with the G Men this year.

Three Position Battles To Watch:

1: Slot Receiver: Wan’Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Gunnar Olszewski, Isaiah McKenzie

Give the Giants credit. They have collected a lot of slot receivers. It won’t translate to wins but hey… they have a lot of depth at the slot. I’m not sure any of them are actually good but we won’t talk about that part. Hyatt has the best chance to do just that as I’ve compared him to a Will Fuller type of guy in the past. Robinson is probably destined for a gadget guy type of role but it’s now or never for him regardless.

2: Tight End: Daniel Bellinger, Lawrence Cager, Theo Johnson

In the least shocking news of all-time, Darren Waller retired . Somehow they were the last team to realize it. I mean… they also had no idea the Eagles would bid for Saquon Barkley after he played HS football in Pennsylvania and stared at Penn State sooooooooo.

Getting the cart back on track here, sorry, I had to take that ricochet shot, I did a little write-up on Lawrence Cager. He’s a former Georgia receiver that’s now being converted to tight end. Might have a chance to turn into something. Theo Johnson is a rookie from Penn State. Is he really ready to go right away in year one? Having someone pop here would help a ton.

3: Running Back: Devin Singletary, Eric Gray, Tyrone Tracy Jr.

The Giants were unwilling to sign Barkley because he turned 27 and that’s the age running backs decline. Instead, they are signing Devin Singletary, who turns 27 in September #Giantslogic.

What’s the plan for Singletary you ask? They had him in Buffalo. That’s the plan… Got it.

Anyway, we have Singletary, Gray, and Tracy battling it out here. Tracy, a rookie out of Purdue, is a converted wide receiver so we’ll see how fast he actually becomes a factor. I did his draft profile if you want to read that. I’ve also been a fan of Gray for a long time if you want to check that profile out!

Rookie To Watch: Malik Nabers

Nabers kinda wins by default here. He’s instantly the WR1 there and gives the Giants their next Odell Beckham. The quarterback is still trash but it will still be fun to see how the LSU product transitions to the NFL level.

Ready to Breakout: Kayvon Thibodeaux

The breakout feels primed, right? It would be nice if the Giants ever got the lead, which probably won’t happen, so the sack totals might not be there that they ultimately could be. However, Brian Burns should help unleash Thibs. Having those two gives the Giants a nice pass rush. It feels like only a matter of time before the former Oregon product becomes one of the best rushers in the league. He’s too talented not to and is coming off an 11.5 sack season in year two.

Fantasy Sleeper: Bryce Ford-Wheaton

This one is a deep, deep, deep sleeper. Wheaton has some talent . He was hurt last year but don’t rule him out of making the roster and flashing later in the season.
