Fresno County assessment roll grows 5%, or $6B annually

Fresno County’s 2024 assessment roll grew 5.53%, or $6 billion annually, for a total of $115.9 billion in total net value.

Fresno County Assessor-Recorder Paul Dictos thanked his staff Tuesday for completing the assessment roll and noted that despite a 5.53% increase in assessed value, nearly nine out of 10 property owners will only see a 2% tax adjustment due to Proposition 13 protections.

Property taxes pay for public services including public education, first responders, public health and other county and municipal services, Dictos added.

Cities with the largest increases in assessed value compared to 2023 include Orange Cove (11.19%), Fowler (10.27%), Firebaugh (8.73%), Kerman (8.44%), Mendota (7.09%), Selma (6.29%), Reedley (6.04%), and Clovis (6.03%).

The lowest growth in assessed value was seen in Sanger (0.21%), followed by San Joaquin (0.53%) and Huron (2.22%).

Fresno County reported 16,202 secured commercial/industrial parcels, 6,588 multifamily parcels, 12,970 condos, 7,192 mobile homes, 25,098 agricultural parcels and 237,679 single-family homes.
