OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — Nearly 100 registered Republicans in one Florida county received the wrong ballots in the mail due to a configuration error, according to an election official.

According to a news release from the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections, 97 registered Republicans in Precinct 35 voting by mail received non-partisan ballots instead of the Republican ballot. Precinct 35 is in the area immediately surrounding the Destin Airport, according to the county map .

The release said the error has been corrected, and the correct ballots will be mailed by Wednesday, July 17.

The county also said the affected voters are being notified of the procedure, and only one ballot will be counted.

“Situations such as this are rare, but regrettable. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused and take full responsibility,” Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections Paul Lux said.
