Okay, we know there are some of you out there who probably are saying it is a bit too early for all this Halloween stuff, but... hear us out...

It is never too early for spooky season! And, to help get you into the right mindset, how about making your own haunted house candle holder using some Dollar Tree supplies? TikTok creator Amanda Jean Gilmore walks us through the process step by step and it couldn't be easier to replicate!

Start off by grabbing yourself a few supplies from your local Dollar Tree, namely a couple plastic dollhouses , some plastic trays that the dollhouse can sit on, some black spray paint, a strand of fairy lights, and some super glue. These are the core ingredients for your hauntingly delightful creation. The best part? These items won't break the bank! With everything in hand, you're ready to start your spooky adventure.

First up, give all your pieces a quick spritz of black spray paint. Think of it as giving your haunted house its menacing makeover. Once everything looks sufficiently eerie, glue the front of the house to your bottom tray. This forms the base of your macabre masterpiece. Now, tuck your fairy lights inside the house. Glue them as necessary so they stay in place and stick the battery pack on the outside. You might want to cut a small notch for the wires to run out to the battery pack, so you don't crimp and damage the wires themselves. Because nothing ruins a spooky mood like faulty wiring.

Next, add a few finishing touches by dry brushing with brown, orange, or other fall-colored paints in highlight areas. This gives the house that aged, creepy look. Then glue other little Halloween do-dads into place. You may have to find some online or even by hunting through Dollar Tree for a few nick-nacks. The more ghoulish the better! Finally, add the other tray to the top and glue solidly in place for the perfect candle holder. Your haunted house is now ready to light up the night.

Other Spooky Additions to Your Haunted House

Of course, there are a few extra bits and bobs you can add to make this even fancier! Skip the top candle holder and add a few flickering fairy lights inside to give that properly spooky feel or add some purple or green tissue paper to give those inside lights an insidious glow. The effect is bound to send shivers down anyone’s spine. You can also add dirt, faux moss, or even faux spider webs as well to enhance the eerie atmosphere. The devil is in the details, after all.
