Emma Roberts Reveals Major Life Announcement With Sweet Photo

Emma Roberts invited fans to celebrate with her as she shared that she and her boyfriend, Cody John , were officially engaged after dating for almost two years.

The American Horror Story actress took to Instagram to reveal the major life update, posting an adorable photo of herself and John smiling at the camera as she showed off the ring.

The caption read, "putting this here before my mom tells everyone ❤️," joking that her mother, Kelly Cunningham , might've gabbed and revealed the news before Roberts got a chance.

Roberts' famous friends shared congratulations, with Aly Michalka , who welcomed her first child in April, writing, "Hahahaha oh man do I relate to this. Congrats Em!!!"

Billie Lourd said, "!!!!!!!! 💖💖💖 !!!!!!!!," while Lindsay Lohan commented, "Congrats!!!!!!!❤️❤️," and Lea Michele said, "Already planning the bachelorette!!!! So happy for you babe!!! 😍💓."

Roberts was previously engaged to Evan Peters , a fellow actor whom she dated on and off between 2012 and 2019. She was also in a serious relationship with actor Garrett Hedlund , with whom she welcomed a baby boy named Rhodes in 2020. The two reportedly broke up in early 2022, and a few months later, she began her relationship with John.

Recently, Roberts opened up about dating in Hollywood in an interview with Flaunt Magazine .

She said of her famous exes, “One day the veil was lifted and I didn’t want to date actors anymore. It’s hard, I think, for two actors to be together... Also, the actors I’ve been with border on method actors, and that is something that I think is extremely difficult to be in a relationship with—at least for me, especially the characters that they were playing.”

Luckily, John is far removed from Hollywood, and the two appear happy together as they look forward to their wedding.
