SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. ( WETM ) — I wish I could say we are completely out of the woods for severe weather, but that is not the case. The feature that caused our Twin Tiers community a lot of weather grief Monday night was courtesy of a weaker trough that was slow to move away. Now there is the cool/cold front that is going to scoot visit in about a day.

This next round will mix it up above our head and also give us several days of relief from Thursday through the weekend and into next week too.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has part of the Twin Tiers under the threat for at least marginally severe weather for Wednesday. So we should be very mindful for the threat of severe weather as it changes anytime from around lunchtime until sunset.

The main threat is again going to be strong winds, and potentially flooding rains and hail. After that, the rain threat in general, pretty much dries up, and leaves us cooler and sunnier for the weekend and into next week.

Overnight, a chance of shower and patchy for around sunrise. Lows in the 60s. Sun to start and then thunderstorms and a high in the upper-80s.
