Courtesy of his vibrant personality, Dennis Rodman left quite an impression on most in the NBA world during his playing days; with some, he even shared a close bond. However, the five-time NBA Champ could never forge strong bonds with his family members off the court. But in his effort to change that, 'The Worm' decided to show up to a National Women's Soccer League game to support his daughter, Trinity, and it sparked a range of emotions.

As a result, not only did the duo embrace each other's presence on the field, but even off it, Trinity shared a heartfelt post, acknowledging that even though she never enjoyed a close bond with her father, she was 'overwhelmed' to see Dennis in the stands supporting her.

    Rodman struggled to maintain relationships

The legendary forward's complicated family dynamics came to light in an interview with Jackie MacMullan in 2019 when he admitted to having no communication with any of his family members.

"I really don't talk to my mother that much, " Rodman said . "You've probably seen the (30 for 30) documentary. My sisters, I don't talk to them as much."

Dennis The Menace's legendary NBA career gave his children a well-known surname and highly athletic genes, which helped Trinity get selected with the second overall pick in the NWSL draft. However, after the two-time NBA All-Star's divorce from Michelle, Trinity and her older brother DJ were raised solely by their mother, helping them bond closely as Dennis always maintained a distance.

Nevertheless, the Chicago Bulls legend's appearance at Trinity's soccer game marked a notable departure from his pattern of estrangement, eliciting a complex emotional response from Trinity.

Trinity's reaction to seeing Dennis in the stands

When Trinity's Sparks beat Courage 1-0, she was happy to see Dennis in the stands. After the game, she shared in a heartfelt post that even though she and her dad often don't see eye to eye and sometimes go months without talking, it was overwhelming to have him there cheering her on.

Furthermore, she admitted they've both messed up in their rocky relationship but promised to work on improving things.

"Yes, Dennis Rodman showed up to an NWSL game, but also my dad, after YEARS, surprised me at a big game in my career, I was shocked, overwhelmed, happy, sad, everything. My dad doesn't play a big role in my life at all and most people don't know that, we don't see eye to eye on many things. I go months, if not years, without his presence or communication," Trinity wrote. "We don't have the best relationship, but at the end of the day, he's human. I'm human… he's my dad, and I'm his little girl that will never change."
