SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — After many delays and engineering issues, the Woodbury County LEC Authority is feeling optimistic about the future completion of the new jail.

In an update on the new LEC project, the Authority says their current focus is working with the contractors on completing the project.

The Authority says the additional work on the mechanical system is due to the errors of the mechanical engineering services provided by Goldberg Group’s engineering consultant, Introba, and the additional costs caused by the delays will be the responsibility of the liable parties.

The Woodbury County LEC Authority continues to project a substantial completion date to come at the end of July or beginning of August.
