    Kim Kardashian shares unconventional psoriasis remedy involving Saran wrap

    Kim Kardashian got candid about her psoriasis.

    The SKIMS founder has struggled with the autoimmune disease for 15 years and gets painful flare-ups that cause flaky red patches to appear on her skin. The scaly, red and itchy patches of skin has no cure since it's an over-reaction of the immune system which causes inflammation and the rapid growth of skin cells.

    Kim has opened up about her autoimmune disease for some time and even showed fans on Keeping Up with the Kardashian's her journey on covering it and treatment. She even created a body foundation for her old makeup brand KKW to help other with the same issue.

    She was a guest on the SHE MD podcast with hosts Mary Alice Haney and Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, as well as guest rheumatologist Dr. Daniel Wallace. The episode release on July 16 in which Kim revealed that she did not develop the skin condiiton until she was 30 and she's the only one of her six siblings to inherit Kris Jenner's psoriasis.

    Kim said: "I remember going out in New York and I wore this silver sequined dress and it was itchy, and I thought it was just a rash from the dress because it came that night. And then I got home, saw my mom… She looked at my legs and goes, ‘Oh my God, you have psoriasis?’"

    She admitted to getting a cortisone shot that helped it go away for a few year but it came back around five years later. It has since not gone away. Kim said that when she scratches an area because it's itchy, it would start to bleed. Nothing has worked other than Beverly Hills dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer's prescription for a cream and told her to try "putting Saran Wrap around it and sleeping on it. Sleeping with it with the Saran Wrap." She sounded like a Tin Man, she said.

    Kim said: "When it was on my legs, I'd put the cream on, Saran Wrap it. Put socks on, go to bed. Do my elbows, because it would get on my elbows. Put a hair tie around the Saran Wrap so it wouldn't come out"
