GUYTON, Ga. (WSAV) – Prosecutors in the case connected to the deaths of two teens in Effingham County are asking a judge to hold the defense in contempt.

In a motion filed July 8, prosecutors say the defense attorneys for Elwyn Crocker Sr., Kimberly Wright and Marc Anthony Wright have “repeatedly refused to comply with court orders” connected to discovery in the case.

Prosecutors say because the defense isn’t cooperating, the trial for the case has been delayed.

The bodies of Mary and Elwyn Crocker Jr. were found buried outside of their Guyton home in December of 2018.

Candice Crocker, the children’s stepmother, pleaded guilty to murder in 2020 and was sentenced to life without parole.

Elwyn Crocker Sr., the children’s father, is also charged with murder and faces the death penalty.
