Low's Alan Sparhawk announces solo record and tour, shares new song

Alan Sparhawk has new music on the way. The Low singer and guitarist's solo album, White Roses, My God , arrives Sept. 27.

The album is just the second Sparhawk has released under his own name, following 2006's Solo Guitar . It's also his first record since the death of Mimi Parker , his wife and musical collaborator, in 2022.

Fans got a first taste of the album on Tuesday with the release of the Rick Alverson-directed music video for the single "Can U Hear." The electronic track with auto-tuned vocals is a departure from the more contemplative drone of Solo Guitar or the slowcore indie of Low.

Sparhawk will tour in support of the album, which was co-produced and engineered by Sparhawk and Minneapolis-based musician Nat Harvie, beginning with a stint as the opener for Godspeed You! Black Emperor. That tour comes to St. Paul's Palace Theatre on Nov. 9. He will kick off a run of headlining solo shows in January 2025. No Minnesota shows have been announced for his solo tour.

In advance of the release, Electric Fetus is running a pre-sale on an exclusive limited-edition purple and white vinyl version of White Roses, My God .
