CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) -- Authorities in Chippewa County are investigating after an inmate in the Chippewa County Jail was found unresponsive in her cell.

On July 4, 41-year-old Shauna Ione Dommer was found unresponsive. Jail staff began performing life saving measures until EMS arrived. Dommer was transported to a local hospital where life-saving measures were continued, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office.

Dommer was in the Chippewa County Jail for only two days after being transported from another facility on July 2.

According to a GoFundMe set up by Dommer's family, she passed away unexpectedly on July 10.

The Sheriff's Office says an outside agency is investigating the matter and further information will be released once it concludes.
