NORTH PORT — Warm Mineral Springs Park Day is on the horizon, and Sarasota County residents get free entry to the park for a day.

The event will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at 12200 San Servando Ave.

Nonresidents can also attend. Nonresident children aged 6-17 must pay $15 to enter, and non-residents who are 18 and up must pay $20.

Proof of county residency is required for free entry. Acceptable proof includes a Sarasota County drivers license, an FPL bill, water bill, tax bill, or deed.

According to the city website, the springs are said to have one of the highest mineral contents in the United States. More than 150,000 people travel to it from all over the world.

Many believe the historic and geologically significant springs have healing properties.
