The episode opens with Rusty and his team dealing with the aftermath of Raymond’s sudden stroke. In his absence, Rusty decides to represent himself, upsetting Mya. As the trial resumes, Rusty confronts Michael about his prejudice against his mother’s lover. He manages to get a reaction from both Michael and Dalton after he expresses his concerns about the former being the actual killer. Consequently, Rusty ends his argument by painting Michael as an unstable witness in Presumed Innocent Episode 7.
Nevertheless, Tommy retaliates by bringing Rigo to the stand and attempts to demonstrate that Rusty has manhandled the case. He also claims that Rusty tends to lose his temper.
