World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler has not seen action since topping the field at last June's Travelers Championship, but fans will see him return at the 152nd edition of The Open Championship at Royal Troon.

That also means that Scheffler's fascinating (and peculiar) swing will be on full display anew.

Scheffler spoke about his unusual footwork ahead of The Open Championship and said that while it looks strange in the eyes of others, it's something that comes naturally for him.

“In terms of my footwork, I just felt too kind of locked in and unnatural if I don't do what my feet normally do because it may look funny to y'all but it feels totally normal to me,” Scheffler told the media during a press conference before The Open Championship.

"I never thought twice about it," he added. "Basically, I didn't really think much about it until I got out on tour and it really became something that I got asked about. That was kind of my calling card when I first came out on tour was my footwork and it was something that I never really thought about because that's just always what I did."

Scheffler has been on a tear in the 2024 PGA Tour season, and given his tremendous success thus far this year, who's to say he needs to change his swing and footwork?

On the season, Scheffler has accrued six wins, 13 top 10s, and 14 top 25s. Scheffler has yet to win The Open Championship, but he is widely regarded as the favorite to be the last man standing at Royal Troon.
