Careful whose name you say in your WWE and NXT promos, because it could either end very poorly for you afterwards, or very well, and rarely landing anywhere in-between those two extremes. Roxanne Perez, current NXT Women’s Champion, grabbed the mic to inflict verbal damage to as many names as she could, invoking the name of Charlotte Flair at one point.

But while most others she mentioned were said with a noticeable scoff in her tone — e.g., newly-signed Stephanie Vaquer (foreshadowing here, by the way) — drawing a comparison between herself and Flair could be seen as complimentary versus wildly insulting.

The good news for Perez is that’s exactly how Flair took it: as a compliment.

The Queen did correct Perez on one thing though, in that she has 11 title reigns and not 14 as Perez stated, but the sentiment was appreciated, nonetheless, and it turns out Flair is just as much a supporter of Perez who is on an absolute tear as champion.

“You almost had it right,” said Flair . “It’s been 11. But thank you! I really do have the best fans. Keep doing your thing. We will meet in the ring one day—I’m sure of it.”

Once Flair is healthy and medically cleared, save the date for this match, folks. She currently continues rehabbing from a torn ACL in her knee and her return to action is still to-be-determined.

Until she graces us all with her legendary aura again, it’s good to know she’s still on the minds of not only the entire WWE Universe, but also of the superstars who keep it flying in her absence — like Perez.
