Chelsea are still on the hunt for new signings this summer, aiming to bolster their squad under new manager Enzo Maresca.

One of the players the club is being linked with is Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, who could be available for a much lower price than initially anticipated.

Reports suggest that Chelsea, looking to strengthen their attacking options, have added Summerville to their shortlist. Initially, it was believed that the Dutch winger would cost around £40 million ($52.1 million). However, new claims from Foot Mercato indicate that the price could be as low as £20 million ($26.1m).

Summerville has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool. Despite the competition, Chelsea are said to be hopeful they can secure his signature for a bargain price.

Could Leeds’ financial situation benefit Chelsea's Summerville chase?

Chelsea's interest is also fueled by Leeds United's financial position. After failing to secure promotion back to the Premier League last season, there are strong indications that the Elland Road club will be forced to make player sales to balance their books.

Leeds are reported to owe up to £190 million ($247.5m) in outstanding transfer fees to other clubs, as part of previous player incomings, and they have already been forced to make changes to meet those obligations.

Archie Gray has already move to Tottenham in a $52 million deal, and Summerville could be next.

Chelsea would be keen to capitalize on any opportunity, especially after missing out on their previous number-one target, Michael Olise, who has joined Bayern Munich.
