    Blount and other leaders speak against proposed sales tax

    A group of current and freshly elected members of the Greenville County Council are speaking out about the possibility of new taxes. The group of 8 in total held a press conference at Greenville County Square Tuesday evening to speak out about the proposed 1% sales tax increase.

    Councilman Benton Blount is part of that group and he's speaking out. Blount feels that the leadership who support this tax increase comes off as tone deaf.

    Blount feels the group has a pretty clear stance on the potential added tax. He then explained how the majority of the tax funding collected from gas bought in Greenville County doesn't come back to the county. Blount was a guest on the Charlie James Show on Tuesday also and that interview is below.
