Helping lead the charge when it came to the new wave of British heavy metal, Iron Maiden not only rose to fame during the movement but went on to carve out their own place in the music industry. For nearly 50 years, the band released several studio albums with hit songs like “2 Minutes to Midnight”, “The Number of the Beast”, and “Aces High.” Much like any band, Iron Maiden went through a series of lineup changes over the decades. And with singers like Bruce Dickinson and Paul Di’Anno part of the band’s history, it appears both artists met for the first time ever.

While both singers held a spot in Iron Maiden, it seems that neither of them ever met. But that all changed when Dickisno and Di’Anno were in Zagreb, Croatia. At the time, Dickinson toured the area to support his new album The Mandrake Project. For Di’Anno, he was there to promote his new debut album with his new band Warhorse.

Thankfully, a camera was on standby as the two rockstars seemed to find common ground in how time slipped away. With the pair talking about health, age, and staying mentally positive, Di’Anno said he looked forward to an upcoming knee surgery. “I won’t be getting back on the Harley any time soon.”

Fans loved the idea of the pair meeting for the first time as the video brought in thousands of views with comments reading, “This is a great sight. They must make peace and getting along together – they are all old now, and their legacy is well established and secured. No need for ego clashes, etc.”

Although loving his time with Iron Maiden, Di’Anno eventually left the group after arguing with both Steve Harris and manager Rod Smallwood. The disagreement seemed ongoing as they asked Di’Anno to leave the group. While upset over the decision for some time, in 2020, he admitted to not blaming them for the decision.

As for meeting with Harris in 2022, Di’Anno insisted, “[I]t was brilliant because I met up with Steve’s sister Linda first, whom I hadn’t seen in about 30 years. And then Steve was amazing, and then Rod as well – it’s made my whole year, actually. It was fantastic.”
