It's almost time for the Monmouth County Fair!

The annual event promises fun for all ages, with live entertainment from racing pigs to music, 4-H displays and shows, a home and garden exhibition, food vendors, rides and more.

Hours: 4 to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, to Friday, July 26; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 27; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 28

Cost: $10, free for children 12 and under, veterans and active military with ID; half-price entry the first two hours each day (4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday to Friday; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday)

Monmouth County Fair pie-eating contest

An old-fashioned pie-eating contest is set for Sunday, July 28.

Children 12 and under will compete at 12:30 p.m. and ages 13 and up will compete at 12:45 p.m.

Registration will take place at 11 a.m by the Main Stage. All participatants receive a T-shirt, and the winner earns a trophy to go along with bragging rights.

Pies are donated by Wemrock Orchards.
