Kamala Harris Comes Out Swinging Against JD Vance in Campaign Video: ‘Loyal Only to Trump, Not to Our Country’

Vice President Kamala Harris came out swinging against Republican vice presidential nominee and Senator JD Vance (R-OH), accusing him of being “loyal only to Trump, not to our country” in a campaign video released on X Wednesday morning.

“Hey, everyone. So Donald Trump has picked his new running mate, JD Vance. Trump looked for someone he knew would be a rubber stamp for his extreme agenda. And make no mistake, JD Vance will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country,” began Harris. “And unlike Mike Pence, Vance said he would have carried out Trump’s plan to overturn the 2020 election. He supports a national abortion ban and voted against protecting IVF. And if elected, he will help implement the Extreme Project 2025 plan for a second Trump term, which would target critical programs like Headstart and Medicare.”

“But we are not going to let that happen,” she concluded.

Trump announced that he had decided to name Vance his running mate on Monday, declaring that “As Vice President, J.D. will continue to fight for our Constitution, stand with our Troops, and will do everything he can to help me MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

Harris and Vance reportedly spoke on the phone Tuesday. Traditionally, the vice presidential nominees face off in at least one debate ahead of election day, but the two have not yet agreed to terms on one.

While Vance was once an unsparing critic of Trump who compared the former President to Adolf Hitler and suggested that he was a serial sex predator, he has emerged in recent years as one of his most reflexive allies.

In an audition for the VP slot earlier this year, Vance told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that it was “ridiculous” to ask if he would have certified the 2020 election before going on to say that he would not have.

“If I had been vice president, I would have told the states, like Pennsylvania, Georgia and so many others, that we needed to have multiple slates of electors and I think the U.S. Congress should have fought over it from there,” explained Vance. “That is the legitimate way to deal with an election that a lot of folks, including me, think had a lot of problems in 2020. I think that’s what we should have done.”
