MILWAUKEE, W.I. (KLFY) – Louisiana delegates are confidently standing with former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential candidate selection.

The crowd in the UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena erupted Monday afternoon as Senator J.D. Vance was announced as Trump’s running mate in this year’s presidential election.

Ohio Senator Vance was initially elected to the U.S. Senate in 2022.

“Vance is a kind of a newcomer to politics, so he’s kind of exciting and motivating,” said Julie Emerson, a Louisiana delegate from Lafayette.
