The summer is about to come to a close. That means it's time for kids to stuff their backpacks, pack their lunches, and get ready for the start of the 2024-25 school year. For Aiken County families, it's coming especially soon.

This is already set to be a big one as it's the start of a new superintendent, Corey Murphy . There will also be new principals at Schofield Middle School and at North Augusta Elementary School.

Here's a look at what families need to know from important dates to school supplies they will need to grab before heading back to school:

When is the first day of school in Aiken County?

The first day of school for students is Monday, July 22. Staff members are already at the schools this week for professional development and teacher workdays.
