GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A German manufacturer has selected Greenville County as the site of it’s first North American facility.

eAccording to Greenville Area Development corporation, Fenecon, a German company which makes energy storage systems, is investing $3 million into opening a plant and headquarters building in Greenville County.

Fenecon builds systems to store and manage electricity for home, business and and industrial use.

“With this expansion, we aim to extend our leadership in storage technologies and serve the American market with our award-winning, innovative solutions,” said Thomas Goesswein, CEO of Fenecon International GmbH, in a press release. “Our multi-million euro investment in the USA underscores our commitment and confidence in the growth potential of this region.”

The new plant is expected to be 136,000 square feet and will reside on Tanner Price Way near Interstate 85. Work on the building is expected to begin later this year.

“Greenville County is honored to be chosen as Fenecon’s flagship US location,” said Greenville Area Development Council (GADC) CEO, Max Stewart. “This decision highlights Greenville County’s position as a premier destination for innovative enterprises, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunities and growth it will bring to our community.”

GADC said the new plant will bring 68 new jobs to Greenville County.
