Ultrahuman, a pioneer in wearable technology, aims to revolutionize health tracking with its PowerPlugs platform. It has introduced the world’s first smart ring capable of detecting atrial fibrillation (AFib).

This innovation, integrated into the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, empowers individuals with irregular heart rhythms to monitor their health proactively.

PowerPlugs is a platform integrated into the Ultrahuman app that allows users to customize their health-tracking experience. It offers a suite of personalized health apps and plugins, each designed to monitor specific health parameters and provide tailored recommendations.

The platform’s approach recognizes that health is not a one-size-fits-all concept, and individuals have unique needs and priorities.

“When it comes to health, one size doesn’t fit all,” stated Mohit Kumar, Founder and CEO of Ultrahuman, during the launch event. “That’s why we built PowerPlugs for people to pick and choose what matters most for their health and wellness.”

AFib detection is a life-saving feature

One of the standout features of PowerPlugs is the AFib Detection tool. It continuously monitors heart rhythm during sleep to identify potential signs of AFib.

“We’re launching our first few PowerPlugs with a novel game changing capability, AFib detection,” highlighted Kumar.

For context, Atrial Fibrillation, often abbreviated as AFib, is a common heart condition characterized by an irregular and often rapid heart rhythm. This irregularity can prevent the heart from pumping blood effectively, potentially leading to severe complications such as blood clots, stroke, or heart failure.

Individuals who experience episodes of arrhythmia or have a history of irregular heart rhythms are particularly vulnerable to AFib.

Ultrahuman’s new AFib detection PowerPlug is designed to empower these individuals by allowing them to track their heart rhythm for signs of AFib.

This way, the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, the first smart ring to offer this life-saving feature, not only enables early detection and intervention but also significantly reduces the risk of serious health consequences.

    Additional PowerPlugs

Other notable apps within PowerPlugs include Circadian Rhythm, which offers recommendations for optimizing sleep and energy levels based on individual circadian rhythms, and Pregnancy Mode, which provides tailored advice for expectant mothers.

Cycle Tracking, Caffeine Window, Vitamin D, Jet Lag, Weight Loss, and Ovulation are just a few of the other apps available, each addressing specific health concerns and goals.

Meanwhile, Ultrahuman has also launched UltraSignal for app developers. It provides unprecedented, open access to the raw data streams from the Ultrahuman Ring AIR, including PPG, accelerometer, and temperature data.

This aims to allow developers to create custom algorithms and build specialized PowerPlugs.

“UltraSignal will help fuel more customization and innovation in health. Developers can build custom algorithms for Sleep, Stress, Movement, Fertility and more, creating their own Powerplug,” expressed the company on its website.

It is notable that such holistic approaches will further enable people to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
