Selma Blair Admitted to the One Thing She’s Staying Away From in Her New, Private Relationship

Since being diagnosed with MS in 2018, Selma Blair ‘s life, and media coverage about her, have revolved around working on herself, understanding her symptoms and advocating for disabilities. But in a new interview, Blair let fans into a new part of her life: her new relationship!

As the new cover star for Us Weekly , Blair shared she has a new man in her life. “He’s not in this business, although 
he has produced before,” she told the outlet. “I wanted a Midwest man and I found a real Midwest man.”

When remembering how the two met, the Cruel Intentions star kept details to a minimum. “I saw him from across a table and now he’s my boyfriend,” she said. “[I think] relationships are best kept out of press if possible. Nobody wants to be exposed to scrutiny.”

“But yes, it’s possible to find love at 52,” she added. “And beyond!”

Prior to her new beau, Blair was married to musician Ahmet Zappa from 2004 to 2006. Blair also shares 12-year-old son Arthur with fashion designer Jason Bleick. Her latest public relationship was with movie producer Ronald Carlson, the two were together from 2017 until their split in 2022.

When thinking about this new relationship, however, Blair admitted there’s one milestone she’s steering clear of: getting married. “Fitting anything in as a mother wanting to build a career and figure out when you’re going to get your blood treatments in — a boyfriend falls by the wayside really easily,” she admitted. “That’s why I would never want to get married. It’s a major setup to fail.”

Marriage aside, it seems Blair is buzzing about her newfound love.

Back in 2023, she even manifested finding someone in an interview with People . “I still believe if I’m just true to myself, that person will come into my life one day,” she told the outlet.

“I think I deserve it, and think I’m in a great place to show up as the best version of me,” Blair said at the time. “It’s the first time I have hope and I could have never said that in my life before.”

Knowing how much she’s wanted this, we couldn’t be happier for her!
