    Magnitude 2.8 earthquake strikes in Riverside County

    A 2.8 magnitude earthquake struck near San Jacinto in Riverside County at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey .

    It was centered 3.4 miles northeast of San Jacinto and 4.2 miles north of Valle Vista and was about 8 miles deep.

    It was centered 5 miles northeast of East Hemet and 5.6 miles northeast of Hemet.

    On the USGS's online "Did You Feel It?" tool, two people reported feeling weak shaking in Palm Springs from the quake. Other people reported feeling minor shaking in areas including Banning, Idyllwild, Hemet and Lake Elsinore.

    There were no reports of damage or injuries. The quake was initially reported at 3.1 magnitude, but the USGS later revised the measurement.
